Nan Baker has been stitching all of her life and created PURRFECT SPOTS to combine her love for needlework and her love for animals. It is not surprising that most of her designs contain an animal of some sort.

As a designer she has the flexibility to go from designing to disasters as she is a member of Disaster Animal Response Team with The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). She has worked fires, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes in Florida, Georgia, New Mexico and North Carolina.

Nan received the Public Information Award at the Florida Governor’s Hurricane Conference for The CASEY Plan (Caring for Animals Safely in Emergencies during the Year) which she created. This program is nationwide and she was recognized at the National Animal Disaster Conference with an award from HSUS.

Since starting her company in 1996, Nan has found that most stitchers are animal lovers. Therefore she is able to promote The CASEY Plan nationally and internationally by donating a portion of her sales to animal disaster relief education.

For more information on the CASEY Plan, contact Nan or check the web site of the Humane Society of the United States.
